Eureka - Personal Finance Oct 20, 2022

NOTE: We are switching Eureka from October 27 to October 20.

Part I: Read Rich Dad, Poor Dad

Read the following chapters:
  • Chapter 2: Lesson 2: Why Teach Financial Literacy
  • Chapter 3: Lesson 3: Mind Your Own Business
  • Chapter 4: Lesson 4: The History of Taxes and the Power of Corporations
These chapters are from the newest edition of the book, but if you have an older book just find the chapters that have the same title.

We will be discussing these chapters in class.

 Part II: History of Money

Choose a topic from the following list of topics:

History of Money Topics

and prepare a 5-minute "presentation" about the topic. You can choose a partner to present with.

You can do any type of presentation, such as a standard presentation, or you can bake something, do a dance, paint something, make a model of something - really whatever you want as long as you teach about the topic!

Part III: Play CA$HFLOW the game

Play CA$HFLOW at home! Each time you play the game with your family you can get 5 VanBucks (up to 30 total).

I would prefer you play the physical game, but if your parents approve you can play the online game here. If you play the online game, make sure you take time in between turns to study your Financial Statements. You can actually set up a room with a password and play with others from Vanguard.

The game is made to teach you about financial statements, so if you skip that part you won't be learning what you need to learn (which is why I prefer you play the physical game.
