Eureka Physics April 20th Last One

Physics

Light and Sound

Know/Understand:
Watch this video about electromagnetic waves.

Watch this video about sound and light waves.
There will be a kahoot with questions from both videos. (if we have time after presentations)

Study/learn:
1. Do an experiment that deals with electromagnetic waves, or light, or sound.
2. Make a video about your experiment, or be prepared to share your experiment in class.
3. Explain what you are doing in your experiment. (there is some other great information in the physics book about light and sound starting on page 162 that could help you understand what is happening.)

Become/Serve: Find a scripture or quote that has to do with light or sound.  Bring it to share with us.

Eureka - Personal Finance April 20

In our final class of the semester, I want to hear from all of you.

You are going to present on a topic that you learned this year in the Personal Finance class.

You can do a 5-minute solo presentation, or do a 10-minute presentation with a partner.

Here’s the deal, though - you can’t just stand up and talk about a topic. You need to do something creative - a skit, a video (that you make - not one you show from YouTube), a demonstration, you can bake something, write and sing a song, etc. Be creative!

I’m not assigning topics - you can choose anything you want. Even if you choose the same topic as someone else, what you got from it will be different from others.

Here’s a reminder of some of the things we talked about:

  • Scriptures about money
  • The history of money and taxes
  • Rich Dad, Poor Dad
    • The rich don’t work for money - the poor and the middle-class work for money. The rich have money work for them.
    • Financial literacy - If you want to be rich, you need to be financially literate
      • Accounting - balance sheet, income statement, cash-flow
    • Assets and liabilities
  • Habits of the wealthy
  • Cashflow the Game
    • Buying assets, doodads, getting out of the rat race, cashflow statements
  • The Richest Man in Babylon
    • A part of all I earn is mine to keep
    • 7 cures for a lean purse
  • The Money Game
    • Paychecks, Income, expenses, taxes, savings, credit cards, debt, life events, keeping track of money, reconciling budget, assets and liabilities, the different between earned and passive income, and of course, PiddlyJunk
I want you to text me (801-360-3285) and let me know your name (I don’t have you saved in my phone), your topic, and if someone else will be presenting with you.

We will vote on the best presentations and the winners will get VanBucks.

After the presentations I will wrap things up.

I look forward to seeing you in class!
